How do I gain access to the Macdonald Athletics & Recreation Sports Complex?

Access is limited to Sports Complex members. McGill students who have paid the Athletics and Recreation fee as part of their tuition are automatically considered members. McGill staff, faculty and alumni must pay an sessional fee.

Are Day Passes available for non-members?

Day passes can be purchased by individuals accompanied by a Macdonald Sports Complex member.

What do I do if I have lost or forgotten my membership card or McGill ID card?

One-time entry can be gained by reciting your student or staff number to the Front Desk. After the initial reprieve, any lost card must be replaced. McGill students and staff should replace their University-issued I.D. cards through the procedures outlined by the University.

Can I get a refund on my membership?

There is a $10.00 cancellation fee to discontinue your membership. Refunds must be requested in person at the Stewart Athletic Complex.

Can I suspend my membership?

Request to suspend a membership will be accepted on a case by case basis only.

How can I pay for my membership?

Memberships can be purchased On-Line or in-person at the Stewart Athletic Complex. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard.

Can I bring a guest?

Members can purchase a day pass for $5.00 for their guest.

Are children welcome?

Adult Children 18+ must pay McGill Staff price. All spouses and children must be linked to a Primary Membership. Children under 14 years of age are not permitted in the fitness centre and must be accompanied by an adult member in all other areas of the complex.

Are McGill students considered members during the summer?

Through the spring and summer months (May through August), full-time McGill students must purchase a summer membership in order to gain access to the Sports Complex. To be eligible for the summer rate, students must have been registered full-time at McGill through the previous semester.

What are the hours of operation?

During the fall and winter semester, the building opens weekdays at 07h00 and closes at 22h00. Weekend hours are 10h00-17h00. Spring/summer hours are weekdays from 08h30-20h00.

Please note that activities end 15 minutes before the facility closes.

Is the facility open on holidays?

LOCKERS

Can I rent a locker to store my stuff during the school year?

Yes, lockers can be rented at a cost of $10.00 per semester. These lockers are located in the basement hallway of the Stewart Athletic Complex.

Do I have to rent a locker?

Day lockers are located in the changing rooms and are free by using your own lock. All locks must be removed by the end of day. Semester lockers are located in the basement hallway of the Stewart Athletic Complex and must be locked at all times.

Do you supply locks?

No. You must supply your own locks

When do I have to clear my stuff out of my locker?

Lockers are only cleared upon expiration of your locker contract.

What if I forget to clean out my locker after my rental contract has expired?

All items left in lockers that have not been renewed, will be removed and if not retrieved by 3 weeks, will be disposed of..

Where can I get a towel?

Towels can be rented at a cost of $1.00/day at the front desk in the Stewart Athletic complex.
